Mathieu Lehanneur // BELGRADE DESIGN WEEK
Mathieu Lehanneur, French designer known for his original designs inspired by science, is the laureate of the Belgrade Grand Prix for Design 2012, awarded at the seventh Belgrade Design Week which recently ended.
During the third day of the creative conference „FREEDOM
SQUARED“ Lehanneur presented his original designs such as air cleaning
system which uses plants, called Andrea, for which he won best invention
award (USA) in 2008. He also presented a collection of ceramic bowls named
„L’âge du monde“ („Age of the World“) based on mathematical calculations
between the young and the aging population.
His designs are a part of permanent exhibitions in these
museums: MoMA in New York, MoMA SF, Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Paris),
Centre Pompidou (Paris), FRAC-Le Plateau (Paris), Design Museum (Gent),
Museum of Decorative Arts (Berlin).
