According to new rumors and few Paris sources, Slimane is poised to take over the design helm at YSL, where he burst on to the fashion scene in the late Nineties with his modernist, androgynous men’s wear. Although he has never designed a women’s collection, Slimane has long enjoyed the support of YSL’s old guard, including the likes of Pierre Bergé, Catherine Deneuve and Betty Catroux.

 - A source told the AFP “[Silmane] will become the new creative director at YSL,” and that “the contract has been signed by both parties.” According to the AFP, the appointment will be formalized during Paris Fashion Week, which starts Tuesday, February 28. -

So, we hope that this is true and can't wait to see him @ YSL!

To prepare for this collection, fashion duo Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez went to Bhutan. There - they'we been inspired to create this modern day armors. What made this collection even more interesting is that they used cotton - a fabric many steer away from for fall and prefer to dabble in the fluff during the spring/summer . Leather looks great with honeycomb patterns that gave volume to the clothes. We are not fans of the peacock prints but other things like samurai belts and over the knee rain boots we just <3

We are so glad that he has stepped out the sportswear zone and created this 'illusionist' collection.
Why illusionist, you ask? Well, because the materials throughout this collection were used to create illusion. 'Fabric manipulation' was how designer described his work - plastics are tweed actually, leather in the disguise of jacquards.
 Futuristic 'plastic'!
